Alan Lindsay Berry, preservation architect, received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, following an earlier Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing & Studio Arts from Roger Williams College. In the mid 1980s, he served as the design division director for Sakonnet Group of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, a design build firm specializing in sustainable design. Mr. Berry established his own architectural practice in 1988, with diverse projects ranging from an interactive educational center utilizing wind and solar power to phased restorations for the 1885 Christ Episcopal Church in Lincoln, Rhode Island. His work with non-profit organizations has included a spectrum of clients ranging from a community farm and a children’s day camp, to a research library and historical societies. At Stephen Tilly, Architect, he utilizes his design and construction experience for preservation and adaptive reuse projects.
